F1, Gp Singapore: Lewis Hamilton still has one regret
Lewis Hamilton doesn’t hide one regret
It looked like it was going to end the race just off the podium, but teammate George Russell’s "straight" a few corners from the finish allowed Lewis Hamilton to earn a place on the podium, at the wheel of his Mercedes, in the hotly contested Singapore Grand Prix.
"It's a pity what è happened in the first few corners – said the seven-time world champion, without hiding a regret -. Però I kept my head down and resumed pushing. The strategy was there, the tires also, I could have won: forò I have to congratulate Sainz and Norris, who arrived in front".
On Russell's accident in the finale, Hamilton added: "I feel sorry for him, è it was really bad luck. We were pushing a lot, the tires were overheating, probably the cause è that. I still like to fight like this until the end, every race should be like thisì".
For Hamilton today’s was è the fifth podium of the season, a top-three finish that had been missing since the British GP. In terms of victories, the multi-time world champion è still dry since Jeddah 2021, but despite the two difficult years he has already signed a contract renewal until 2025 with the Anglo-German stable.
