The advice of the mountain guide

As autumn approaches, the slopes of the Paganella Plateau are tinged with a thousand different colors. To discover them all, there’s nothing better than a’total immersion in nature, among forests, trails and refuges overlooking some of the most’beautiful views of the Brenta Dolomites. The’important è to do it safely.

"When choosing a route è it is essential to inform yourself well about the ’route, both uphill and downhill, and the weather forecast, so you know what to do in case of bad weather. Especially if you è novice, è better to opt for trails that have shelter and refreshment points, such as refuges,” explains mountain guide Davide Carton. È moreover, it is fundamental to start with the proper equipment and to know the difference in altitude between the starting point and the arrival point: indicatively, we can say that under 500 meters you è face a path of reduced difficulty, while between 500 and 1000 average and above 1000 we can talk about itineraries for more trained people".

"Finally, the technical difficulty should be evaluated by relating the kilometers to be covered and the elevation gain: if the distance è minimal and the elevation gain è high, the trail will probably beà particularly steep and technical" concludes Carton..
