Champions League, the results of rounds A and B
There was no shortage of goals and spectacle in Wednesday’s matches of the two Champions League groups not involving Italian teams, Groups A and B.
In particular, Bayern Munich’s 4-3 win over Manchester United stands out: the Bavarians were ahead 2-0 at halftime thanks to goals by Sané at 28' and Gnabry at 32', former Atalanta team Hojlund shortened the score at 49' but Harry Kane signed the first European goal with the new jersey at 53' (on a penalty kick) and seemed to close the accounts. The final è però bursting: Casemiro brings the Red Devils back to -1 at 88'88', Mathys Tel widens again at 92', again Casemiro makes it 4-3 at minute 95. Another minute of recovery is not enough to change the score again. In the other Group A match, a 2-2 comeback draw by Galatasaray over FC Copenhagen Elyounoussi and Gonçalves deluded the Danes, Boey and Tete nabbed the equalizer in the final.
In Group B è however, Arsenal's 4-0 win over PSV was remarkable: Bukayo Saka, on his Champions League debut, took 8 minutes to score, followed by goals at 20' by Trossard and at 38' by Gabriel Jesus. Odegaard, at 70', closed the games for good, giving Gunners fans an aserata to remember. The other match in the round, on the other hand, saw Sevilla and Lens engaged: 1-1 was the final result, with Fulgini responding to Ocampos’ Andalusian advantage.
