Stefanos Tsitsipas in an interview with Kathimerini took stock of the current moment in world tennis, highlighting the impact of the "Next Gen" whose leaders include Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner and Holger Rune.
"There's been an opportunity, sometime between 2018 and 2020, before Alcaraz, Sinner and Rune came along. Then all the lights were on Alexander Zverev, Dominic Thiem and me. Now, the scene è changed".
"We are not so young anymore,"” continued Tsitsipas. “Young people have so much energy, thirst for victory and no fear. They play freely".
Tsitsipas sees more distance to the top with the arrival of these new players: "Definitely è one thing I still think about a lot, but it isn't the only thing that matters. It was like a drug when I was young and it deprived me of something else. That doesn't mean I'm satisfied. The key for me è balance in life, build something with someone and advance in your career with the help of that person. And Paula Badosa is helping me a lot".
