Milan starts again with Leao: 1-0 at Verona

A goal by Rafael Leao was enough for Milan to return to victory, after the bad defeat in the derby and the draw in the Champions League with Newcastle.
The match, which started half an hour late due to a water bomb that hit the San Siro, saw the Diavolo immediately go ahead: at 8, Giroud fired deep for Leao, who sprinted towards the goal and beat Montipò with a diagonal left-footed shot. On 21’ the guests went close to equalizing with a header by Folorunsho but Sportiello denied him the joy of goal. The Rossoneri controlled the lead and closed ahead at halftime.
In the second half, Baroni inserted Bonazzoli for Faraoni and the ex-Inter striker immediately had a chance but his shot è too centered. At 65’ Pioli è forced to insert Loftus Cheek for Krunic, who was sore after a clash. At 72’ Pulisic came close to doubling the score with a personal initiative but Montipò repelled the conclusion of the U.S. attacker. In the final, Jovic did not take advantage of a chance for 2-0, kicking at Montipò.
Milan returns to victory and climbs to 12 points in the standings, momentarily in second place, while the Scaligeri remain stuck on 7 points.
