An historic transformation, but in the worst possible sense.

Mauro Icardi and Galatasaray tried to emulate Johan Cruijff and his Ajax, but the result è was all to forget. In fact, the Argentine striker tried to score on a penalty kick by passing the ball to a teammate. Compared to what happened to the Lancers in 1982, however, the result è was completely different.

What happened at the time was the transformation of a "two-way penalty shot,

with Cruijff backing the ball to teammate Jesper Olsen on his left (with forward touch, the only one allowed by the rules, and the other Ajax player regularly departing from outside the box) only to have it returned and comfortably placed in the net. Icardi and Galatasaray tried to repeat the operation, with a completely different outcome.

In the course of the Istanbulspor-Galatasaray match, precisely on 37'the guests in fact took advantage of a penalty kick. On the penalty spot came Kerem Akturkoglu who, as in 1982, touched the ball to his left. Here è rushed Icardi, who però did not return the pass to him but attempted a direct conclusion on goal. Missing però sensationally his aim.

Icardi himself later found a way to redeem himself by personally signing the 1-0 goal with which his Galatasaray è secured the match. The embarrassment, however, remains.
