Stefano Sardara’s ambitions on the eve of the championship

Stefano Sardara, owner of Dinamo Sassari, does not want to hide his ambitions on the eve of the 2023-24 Serie A basketball season. The stated goal è to confirm among the top eight in the league, and maybe surprise in the playoffs.

"It's obvious that in the last 5 years people and companies with very important means have come up, with which we have to deal,” he said during an interview with 'La Nuova Sardegna' -Each year evaluations will also be made based on what has been spent, but at each start of the season we know that to close the gap we have to work more with our heads and hunger. So far we have succeeded, and this gives us great conviction about our capabilities" ahead of next season".

"This does not take away from the fact that it will be difficult against rosters much better equipped than ours,” Sardara added.

“If we think that 5-6 years ago we had only a championship-killing Milan, then came Bologna, now there are Tortona, Brescia, Venice, as well as Trento and Brindisi. Apart from the two outriders, there are at least 3-4 companiesà that have bigger budgets than ours and another 4-5 at our level, it will not beà easy".

Dinamo Sassari, after its landing in the top league in the 2010-11 season, has never stopped surprising: in less than 15 years of high level, it has won a Scudetto (2015), two Italian Cups (2014 and 2015), two Italian Super Cups (2014 and 2019), as well as the 2019 FIBA Europe Cup. Last year it finished the regular season in fifth place, stopping in the Scudetto semifinals against Olimpia Milano.
