Inter, a super Lautaro Martinez knocks out Salernitana

Salernitana-Inter 0-4: Lautaro Martinez’s poker

After the home knockout in the midweek round against Sassuolo, Inter resumed its league run with a clear 0-4 success over Salernitana signed Lautaro Martinez, author of a poker within 30 minutes.

The match saw the two teams lined up with a 3-4-2-1 (Paulo Sousa’s Salernitana) and 3-5-2 (Simone Inzaghi’s Nerazzurri) formation, respectively. The first half opened with a triple threat created by the Nerazzurri with Thuram, Sanchez and Dumfries. The response of the hosts came on 30' with Kastanos just grazing the far post with a left-footed shot. Despite several chances on both sides, the first partial è ended with untouched goals.

The second half saw a more determined Inter. After a series of substitutions, including the entry of Lautaro Martinez, the Nerazzurri took control of the match. In fact, at 63' the Argentine put the meneghini ahead with a brilliant touch underneath on an assist from Thuram. A crucial moment in the match came at 67' when Legowski’s equalizing goal was disallowed for offside by VAR. At 77' Lautaro Martinez put the game downhill for his team by taking advantage of the Campania rearguard's mistake by slipping in Ochoa for 2-0.

Seven minutes later, the Argentine World Champion managed to take the ball home by converting the penalty kick won by Thuram. The joy for the Nerazzurri captain, however, was not yet over, as in the midst of the recovery he managed to seal his personal poker on an assist from Carlos Augusto.

In the standings, the Nerazzurri joined their cousins AC Milan at the top of the table on 18 points, who beat Lazio 2-0 in the afternoon with goals from Pulisic and Okafor.
