Rafael Nadal announced place and date of his return

A few days ago Rafael Nadal announced that he would definitely return to play in 2024, which in theory should be his last year of competitive activity. Now, in a reel on Instagram, the 37-year-old Majorcan outfielder has also announced the place and date of his return to the ATP circuit.

Nadal will return to play in the first week of January in the ATP 250 in Brisbane, on cement, in preparation for the Australian Open, the very tournament after which he had had to interrupt activity for almost a year and in which he was beaten in three sets in the second round by U.S. MacKenzie McDonald. Here are Nadal’s words.

“I think I don’t deserve to finish like thisì. I think I have worked hard throughout my sporting life, so my end is not è here in a press conference, I am working hard to finish my career the right way. After a year off the circuit, I think it is the right time to come back. Soì I feel ready to announce that I will return in Brisbne, in the first week of the season”.

Rafael Nadal, born June 3, 1986, has won 22 Grand Slam titles, including 14 at Roland Garros, è been world No. 1 for 209 weeks and ended the year five times at the top of the rankings, winning a total of 92 tournaments in his career, fifth all-time multiple winner in the Open Era.
