Serie A: Fiorentina drops a hat trick, show tie between Udinese and Verona
Fiorentina-Salernitana 3-0 and Udinese-Verona 3-3
The two 3 p.m. matches of the 14th day of Serie A ended with a win and a draw. Fiorentina crushes Salernitana with a clear 3-0, signed Beltran, Sottil and Bonaventura, pyrotechnic 3-3 between Udinese and Verona with goals by Kabasele and Lucca (2) for the Friulians and Djuric, Ngonge and Henry for the Scaligeri.
At the Franchi the hosts have an easy time from the first bars, unlocking the game after only five minutes with Beltran, who scored his first league goal from the penalty spot. On 18' the hosts double with Sottil with a spectacular right-footed shot that kisses the crossbar and the post before entering the net. In the resumption there's also room for the tris, signed by Bonaventura, who scored an empty-goal goal on an assist from Sottil.
Everything happens at the Bluenergy Stadium in Udine with the hosts getting caught up twice by the guests. On 16' Kabasele put the Bianconeri ahead with a winning left-footed kick off a Samardzic free kick. On 30' Udinese doubled with Lucca, who fulminated Montipò with a fine right-footed shot off a precise cross from Pereyra. Seven minutes later the Gialloblù shortened the distance with Djuric who beat Silvestri from the eleven meters.
In the second half, on 61', Verona evened the score with a splendid reverse by Ngonge, served by Suslov. At 72' the Friulians went back ahead again thanks to Lucca, who found a perfect header off a cross by newcomer Thauvin. In the last breath forò comes the Scaligeri’s equalizer with Henry who anticipates Silvestri and signs the final 3-3.
Fiorentina overcomes Bologna and climbs to fifth place in the standings, on 23 points. Udinese and Verona rise to 12 and 10 points, respectively, while Salernitana remains stuck at 8, in last place.
