Nantes fan killed
More violence in French soccer and this time, unfortunately, there's also been a death. In Nantes, a fan of the yellow-green team lost his life due to injuries sustained during a brawl between local and Nice supporters that took place before the Ligue 1 match near the Beaujoire stadium.
Disclosing the news of the death è was the Nantes Public Prosecutor’s Office, which issued an official statement. According to reports in the transalpine sports daily L'Equipe, the fan was a member of the Loire Brigade, the main group of diehard Nantes fans.
The 31-year-old man "è collapsed to the ground shot in the back" reported Nantes in a statement. Prosecutors have opened a culpable homicide investigation.
