Brindisi, Tullio Marino speaks out on the market
Tullio Marino: "We all need to feel in discussion"
Reduced by a nightmarish start to the season, with only one win (paradoxically against the team currently first in the standings, Virtus Bologna) out of ten games, as well as protagonist of a European journey that was far from exceptional, with the elimination from the FIBA Europe Cup after the group stage, Happy Casa Brindisi is trying to tidy up its ideas and general manager Tullio Marino does not rule out interventions on the market.
"Our scouting staff è at work – told the 'Quotidiano di Puglia' the executive of the biancazzurro club -, should there be the conditions and possibilities; to intervene again in the market we would not back out, as always. We must all feel that we are in discussion, as it'è right that it should be with these results".
With his words Marino wants to spur everyone and not one particular element: "As for Jackson – he said, speaking of one of the most criticized players – his performance è was underwhelming as, moreover, that of all his teammates. We cannot make hasty judgments, we know what his characteristics are. In any case, he will have to settle in quickly, there is no time to lose".
Happy Casa Brindisi has experienced an autumn to forget: after the success against Den Bosch in the semifinals of the Basketball Champions League preliminaries on Sept. 29 came eleven consecutive defeats, interrupted only on Nov. 15 in the Europe Cup against BC Kalev/Cramo. On the other hand, the first and so far only victory in the league, against Virtus Bologna, dates back to November 26: the situation is not è irreparable (the salvation zone is 4 points away) but a turnaround is needed to lift the season.
