Roberto De Zerbi displaces suitors

Between AC Milan and Roma, Roberto de Zerbi chooses … Brighton. The 44-year-old coach, speaking at the press conference presenting the match between the club whose reins he took over in September 2022 and Brentford, displaced everyone by claiming that he does not want to change despite the esteem of the A clubs and some rumors that would have him at Real Madrid for the post-Ancelotti.

On the contrary, De Zerbi explained that he is in negotiations with the management for the extension of the current agreement, whose current expiration è set for 2026: "We are actually reasoning about the renewal – said the Seagulls coach -. At the moment there is no other news to give but we are actually talking about renewing the contract".

"Here in Brighton I am very happy – added the former coach of, among others, Sassuolo and Shakhtar -.

I have a very good relationship with the players and managers, I am enjoying myself and my goals coincide with those of the club: for me è it is an honor to work with this company" and with this team. I am not looking for something different, what matters è to work and do it seriously".

De Zerbi è arrived at Brighton & Hove Albion in September 2022 (replacing Graham Potter, who moved to Chelsea), after his experience in Ukraine with Shakhtar was interrupted after the Ukrainian league was disrupted by the Russian invasion. With the Seagulls, De Zerbi achieved an excellent sixth place finish in the Premier League, earning qualification for the 2023/24 Europa League.
