Napoli, Walter Mazzarri: “We need balance.”
Walter Mazzarri’s statements ahead of Juventus-Napoli
On the eve of the match against Juventus that will open the 15th day of the championship, Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri, among other topics, dwelt on the aspects still to be improved over the course of the season.
"I think since I arrived we have realized that at the first mistake we concede goals. I must try to restore balance to the team, so that we attack well as in the first half with Inter, but without conceding those bloody restarts that characterized the team even before my arrival. Top teams must have balance, be solid, not take too many goals, feel important and make the plays we know how to make" began the Napoli coach.
"The soul always matters in soccer. The boys have made me understand that with me they give everything and are convinced of what the coach proposes. I see a strong bond towards me, you know that I also talk to them individually and we are starting a path. In the first place there'è finding the identity'of a team that does not want to succumb. I am working in this direction and some improvements have already been seen, but we need more time. With Inter we deserved to close the first half in the lead" continued the coach of the Champions d'Italia.
"When a coach takes over in the current season there's a need to gather data to understand the situation. When we get to the end of this month he will surely have clearer ideas and will also be able to give the right directions to the club in view of the market. Being reigning champions and finding yourself losing soì many home games can have a great impact at the psychological level and I hope to have the time to train my players also under the mental aspect" added the former Cagliari.
"We need more clarity from our players, we need to be able to be more compact, make fewer mistakes under goal and not take bloody restarts. Even a pinch of luck would be useful, becauseé when everything turns bad for you, an episode makes you turn" commented Walter Mazzarri.
