Monza-Genoa 1-0

The only Sunday 3 p.m. match of the 15th day of Serie A between Monza and Genoa ended with a success for the red and white, who returned to the victory that had been missing for three turns. At the U-Power Stadium a goal by Dany Mota in the final minutes decides, knocking out the Rossoblù, at their second consecutive knockout, after the one with Lazio in the Coppa Italia.

The first half è stingy with chances. On 10' nice drive by Carboni, who gets rid of a couple of opponents and puts in a low cross on which Pessina misses by a whisker. On 22' Kyriakopoulos misjudges the size of the cross with Colombo alone in the box. At 36' Ciurria puts the red-and-whites ahead but the referee cancels for an offside at the beginning of the action by Colombo.

In the second half, the guests are also finally seen, having a giant chance to take the lead but Retegui wastes it all by kicking high from two steps, on a shot-cross by Messias. With the danger averted, the hosts went ahead at 83'83' with Dany Mota, who beat Martinez with a beautiful diagonal shot that slotted into the corner, on an assist from Pereira. Two minutes later, the red-blacks immediately had a chance to equalize but Dragusin only hit the outside of the net.

With this victory Monza climbs to ninth place in the standings, at 21, while Genoa remains stuck at 15, in 15th position.
