Claudio Ranieri extols his Cagliari: “Proud of my people”
The enthusiasm after an unexpected victory è so much.
Cagliari beat Sassuolo 2-1, scoring the two decisive goals in 94' and 99'. A thrilling comeback, which Claudio Ranieri emphasized with joy and pride in the aftermatch at the Unipol Domus. And in his words there was no shortage of praise for the authors of the two goals that took the Rossoblù momentarily out of the relegation zone: Gianluca Lapadula and Leonardo Pavoletti.
"I am proud of this team, because I see that it has understood what I want – highlighted Ranieri to the microphones of 'Sky Sport' -. The matches are never really over, and we fight until the last second. All these guys want to stay in Serie A, and my task è to try in the best way to accompany them".
Ranieri did not, however, hide that his Cagliari has a problem in the first minutes of games: "We should start after the first quarter of an hour of the first half. Even tonight we were timid and ugly in the beginning, luckily Sassuolo only scored one goal. After that we però managed to take the field, and we picked up three very important points against an opponent that plays football".
So Ranieri's praise toward his individuals: "Lapadula è a boy of excellent professionalismà. È a machine, maybe he even trains too much. He has so much desire to do, so much that I have to tell him to work out less to find more agility. Pavoletti, on the other hand, è a little bit; our Altafini, although he looks at me badly because heé would like to play more. But è a reference of ours and a locker room leader".
