Jannik Sinner’s team awarded: Novak Djokovic doesn’t go for it

Novak Djokovic, through a message posted on his social profiles, did not welcome the decision of the coaches present on the ATP circuit to award the Best Coach of the Year award to Darren Cahill and Simone Vagnozzi, the two coaches of Jannik Sinner. Another satisfaction for the South Tyrolean tennis player, who had already received the Fan's Favourite award at the ATP Awards 2023.

The world number one first è congratulated Cahill and Vagnozzi: "Congratulations to Darren and Simone for a great season with Jannik". Later forò he added: "Goran, I suppose we need to win 4 out of 4 Slams to make sure that you, maybe (and I mean maybe), can be considered coach of’the year. Closing the year as No. 1 by winning three Slams and the ATP Finals and having made history in the sport is not è enough, my dear coach…"

Wins in three out of four Grand Slam titles (at the Australian Open, Roland Garros and the Us Open), success at the ATP Finals, coupled with finishing the season at number one in the world rankings evidently were not enough to reward Nole’s coach, Goran Ivanisevic.
