Lecce regains victory and hooks up with Torino: Frosinone ko
Lecce-Frosinone 2-1
Lecce regains success in Serie A. The Salentini, after a fast of almost three months, manage to get the three points beating at the "Via del Mare" Stadium Frosinone with the result of 2-1.
Lecce immediately unblocked the result on 11’: Banda took advantage of a wrong deflection by Turati and offloaded to Piccoli, who left-footed beat the Ciociaria extreme defender at the first post. A few minutes later, Frosinone has a chance to tie the match, as Brescianini is landed in the box by Gendrey, obtaining a penalty kick, which is then revoked after the VAR consultation.
On 31’ comes the equalizer of the Lazio team. Monterisi was landed in the area by Blin and this time the VAR awarded the penalty, which was converted by Kaio Jorge, who beat Falcone finding his first goal in the league, as well as his first since his arrival in Italy in 2021.
The first two chances in the second half are for Frosinone: on 55’ Kaio Jorge fails to give enough power to his header, which is easily blocked by Falcone. Seven minutes later è Soulé came close to taking the lead with a dirty shot that ended just wide.
In 78’ è again Piccoli to scare the Ciociara rearguard. The blue striker, served by the newly entered Sansone, lets off a shot that ends just high over the crossbar. Four minutes later for Frosinone replied Harroui, who came close to scoring with a low shot from the edge of the area.
At 89’ comes the winning goal for Lecce with Ramadani, who from the distance manages to bag the ball with the complicity of Turati, who completely misses the intervention allowing the Salentini to regain a success that had been missing since last September 22 (1-0 with Genoa).
Thanks to this success, Lecce hooks Torino in 11th place in the standings with 20 points, while Frosinone remains stuck at 19. In their next match, the Giallorossi will face Inter at San Siro, while the Ciociari will host Juventus.
