Astana unveils team for 2024
An important day for the Astana Qazaqstan Team, the Kazakhstani team that has been part of the professional circuit of world cycling since 2007, with slight name changes.On Sunday, in fact, general manager Alexandre Vinokourov presented the 29 riders who will take part in next season’s races, among whom there are as many as seven Italians.
Leading the tricolor patrol within the Kazakh team è Simone Velasco, champion of Italy 2023 in the road race. Along with him will be Davide Ballerini, Samuele Battistella, Lorenzo Fortunato, Gianmarco Garofoli, Michele Gazzoli and Christian Scaroni, confirming Astana’s great attention to cyclists from the Bel Paese, given that in the past with the light blue jersey with yellow borders also raced in the past a champion of the caliber of Vincenzo Nibali.
