Luca Banchi’s statements ahead of Virtus Bologna-Olympiacos

After successes against Barcelona, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Baskonia, Virtus Bologna will go in search of its fourth consecutive victory against Olympiacos, which is in 10th place in the standings with a 7-7 record. On the eve of the game, which is valid for the 15th day of the Euroleague, the head coach of the Felsinians, Luca Banchi, wished to speak words of praise to the Greek team.

"The game against Olympiacos è certainly one of the most fascinating and challenging of the entire Euroleague season. Winner of last year’s Regular Season and finalist, the Greek team represents one of the main candidates for the final victory and will arrive in Bologna strong with an extremely deep roster further enriched by the recent arrival of Filip Petrusev, who goes to add further consistency to an already dominant long sector" began the head coach of the Felsinians in a press conference.

"We will try to build on the last few outings, where we showed that we were able to go beyond our physical and technical limitations and take the game on tracks that allowed us to express our best basketball, with a collective effort from the team, staff and public. These evenings are special and should be experienced with enthusiasm, so we will try to enjoy the atmosphere that Virtus Segafredo Arena will be able to give us" added Luca Banchi.

Ahead of the meeting with Olympiacos, center Bryant Dunston è also spoke in a press conference: "Olympiacos è a tough team. It will be a tough game, very physical. They have a very balanced team and a very good coach. I was coached by their coach, so I understand a little bit’ their philosophy. But as for tomorrow’s game, we have to go into the game with the right attitude, play physical and strong on defense. We have to prevent them from scoring easy baskets, because they get a lot of points from cuts, offensive rebounds and playing together on offense. Make sure everyone touches the ball, move the defense from side to side and take advantage of opportunities".
