Fabio Capello frames the main target for Inter's 23-24 season

During an interview given to the microphones of the "Gazzetta dello Sport", former AC Milan and Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello è bluntly expressed himself on what, in his opinion, are the goals Inter intends to pursue during this season. In addition, the former coach wanted to analyze the double challenge that awaits the Nerazzurri in the Champions League against Atl'tico Madrid valid for the round of 16.

"I think the changes made by Inzaghi in the last two Champions matches against Benfica and Real Sociedad have made clear what è the main goal for Inter this season, which is the second star. Seeing the draw that Manchester City and Real Madrid had, one could have hoped for something better by coming first in the group" began the former Milan and Juventus coach.

"It could have been worse for Inter. But Simeone's is a difficult team in every sense of the word, agonistically very good, playing in a hot environment and tactically smart. It's humble and will not come to play just for the sake of pleasure, but to give everything and try to get results. In addition, Atl'tico will also be able to count on a coach who has a lot of international experience and knows how to handle the delicate moments of matches" added the former England coach.

"It will dependà a lot on the position in the standings and the possible points advantage that a leading Inter team will have in February, when the Champions round of 16 will be played. Another factor will be injuries, although the Nerazzurri in this respect do not have the problems of Milan, which is breaking all records. Rather I hope that Inzaghi against Atletico will field the best formation without thinking too much about the championship. Actually, I thought he would have done so even in the last two rounds of the rounds to take first place, instead, he preferred to give more importance to the Serie A matches" concluded Fabio Capello.
