Manchester City-Fluminense 4-0
Manchester City è world champions. The Citizens crushed Fluminense with a clean sweep 4-0 in the Club World Cup final, played at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, winning the World Cup title for the first time in their history. Pep Guardiola, on his fourth personal triumph, becomes the most successful coach in the competition.
City got off to a strong start and took the lead on 1' with Alvarez, who put back into the net, with his chest, after Aké s post. The Brazilians tried to fight back and earned a penalty kick on 16' but the Var took it away for Cano’s offside. On 27' the English signed the double: Foden put a strong, low ball in the center that found the unfortunate deflection of Nino that mocked his goalkeeper. At the end of the first half Ederson saves everything on a header by Arias.
In the resumption, Guardiola’s men dropped their third at 72' with Foden: Kovacic caught Alvarez in depth, the Argentine set off a cross-shot on which the English midfielder ventured and signed the 3-0 in the split. In the final there's also room for poker: Matheus Nunes serves Alvarez in the center of the area, who turns and lets off an unstoppable diagonal, signing his personal double.
Manchester City crowns a dream 2023: after the Treble, culminating in the Champions League final victory against Inter Milan, comes the Club World Cup.
