One goal per time at Lecce, Inter remains +4 on Juventus

At the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Inter beat Lecce 2-0 in the match of the seventeenth day of Serie A.

After just two minutes Mkhitaryan falls in the box on Falcone’s exit and claims a penalty but VAR says there’è nothing. Lecce però on the restart è dangerous especially with Banda and on 9’ Gonzalez from outside forces Sommer to deflect into a corner.

At 11’11’ very good chance for Arnautovic who on a low cross from the left by Carlos Augusto turns left footed where there’è the foot of Falcone who deflects into the corner. Almost identical action on 18’ with Carlos Augusto who on a counterattack crosses low for Thuram anticipated milimetrically by Falcone.

On 22’ Barella for Arnautovic who all alone in front of Falcone devours the lead by putting it wide. At 27’ Gallo tries from outside, high by a little. At 40’ Calhanoglu’s corner from the right on which Bisseck’s right-footed volley hits the crossbar. At 42’ Gonzalez already cautioned commits a hand foul and despairs but the referee incredibly does not expel him.

On Calhanoglu’s subsequent free kick Bisseck hits a header and puts Inter ahead. Right at the end of the first half Gallo crosses low from the left, ball in the middle of the area for Strefezza who turns as he falls and sends it into the stars.

Resume. On 49’ a cross from the right on the back of Carlos Augusto, for Marcenaro è hand foul and penalty but then with the help of VAR he reverses the decision. On 58’ right footed shot from outside by Banda, blocks Sommer on the ground. At 59’ Mkhitaryan, who two minutes earlier by excessive unselfishness had served Arnautovic, triangulates with the Austrian but then puts it out from a good position.

At 61’ again Bisseck who header from Calhanoglu’s cross from the left forced Falcone to lift it into a corner. At 67’ prolonged action by Bastoni who serves Darmian on the right, left repelled by Falcone. At 69’ Acerbi intervenes in his own area with milimetric precision to stop Rafia.

Now Lecce dominates: on a cross from the left Rafia’s header blocked on the ground by Sommer, who a minute later repeats in two times on a left-footed shot from distance by Kaba. Inter seemed to be in great physical difficulty but in 78’ an incredible backheel by Arnautovic put Barella alone in front of Falcone and the left-footed midfielder did not miss: 2-0.

At’83’ Banda protests to Marcenaro and is sent off, Lecce in ten. From’87’ to’89’ three miraculous saves by Falcone: first he clears on the line a diving Pavard shot from the right, then he lifts a shot from outside the box by Asllani into a corner, finally another feat on Acerbi.

Finally in 94’ Pongracic in turn saves the Nerazzurri’s tic-tac-toe by removing a Klaassen shot from the goal. Inter, despite the many absences, Lautaro’s most notably, remains at +4 over Juventus.
