At the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, AC Milan narrowly won the match of the 18th day of Serie A by beating Sassuolo 1-0.
Milan starts off great: at 8’ Bennacer scores after a shot from outside by Reijnders but he does it offside. On 10’ personal action by Reijnders who from a good position kicks wide. On 24’ Bennacer with his left from 20 yards, just wide. At 26’ Leao on an assist from Bennacer gets his shot deflected into the corner by Consigli.
On 31’ another goal cancelled out for Milan: again Bennacer for Leao who this time puts in but uselessly becauseé è offside. On 33’ here comes Sassuolo with Berardi who tries a left-footed shot from outside, lifted into the corner by Maignan. At 45’, after a Florenzi free kick, a scramble in the Emiliani’s box and the ball in the corner.
Resume. Emiliani still dangerous with a left by Toljan from the limit parried by Maignan. At 58’ Milan took the lead with Pulisic who took advantage of a deflection by Tressoldi on an assist by the usual Bennacer and pierced Consigli with his right.
Nothing more happens until the 90’ when Chukwueze, who just entered, grazes the double with a left-footed shot just wide. Rossoneri remaining third, while Sassuolo’s crisis continues, with only one point in the last five games.
