Atalanta tamed Lecce by imposing itself 1-0 in the 12:30 p.m. advance of the 18th day of Serie A. The Bergamaschi won narrowly thanks to Lookman's goal at 59' and in the standings re-entered the europa zone by climbing to sixth place on 29 points, overtaking Napoli at 28.
A hard-fought first half, the hosts hit a post on 14' with Scamacca, on 21' Carnesecchi deflects Kaba’s conclusion on the dive. In the resumption Atalanta hit the crossbar with Pasalic at 58', and a minute later found the lead thanks to Lookman.
The Nigerian striker, served by Scamacca, gets rid of two opponents and in a diagonal pass leaves Falcone no chance. The guests threatened to be doubled a few minutes later, then regrouped their ideas and came close to equalizing with Piccoli at the 80'80'. In the final minutes of the game, a splendid save by Carnesecchi on Piccoli’s volley denied the Salentini the equalizer.
