The’s only World Cup race of the weekend in alpine skiing è the men’s slalom in Chamonix, to be held Sunday in the French resort (first run at 9:30 a.m., second at 12:30 p.m.). There are, as usual, seven summoned by dt Max Carca, and the return to competition of Giuliano Razzoli stands out. In addition to the Olympic champion from Emilia, there will be: Tommaso Sala, Alex Vinatzer, Stefano Gross, Tobias Kastlunger, Simon Maurberger and Filippo Della Vite, aggregated to the team.

The French slope does not boast a very long tradition in World Cup slalom. The oldest victory dates back to 1975, when Gustav Thoeni won, while in ’78 Paolo De Chiesa was third. This was followed by Alberto Tomba’s success in 1994. In 2000 came the’s only Cup victory by Angelino Weiss, followed by two successes by Giorgio Rocca in 2004 and 2005.

Last year the Swiss Ramon Zenhausern won, ahead of the Greek Aj Ginnis and the’other Swiss, Daniel Yule.
