Virtus Bologna, Luca Banchi doesn’t trust Treviso
Luca Banchi warns his players
Reduced from a challenging Euroleague double round, characterized by the heavy defeat in Barcelona and the beautiful home win against Partizan, Virtus Bologna comes to the next round of the championship, Monday night’s postponement against Treviso, strong of the second place in the standings and three consecutive successes in Serie A.
Luca Banchi, in pre-game statements released to Virtus official channels, urges not to give the Trevisans for defeat, despite the fact that their recent roster (one won and four lost in the last five games played) inevitably places them in the role of underdogs, despite the support of the friendly crowd at the PalaVerde.
"Treviso è a profoundly renewed team compared to the team encountered in the first round,” Banchi said, warning his players, “has already shown that it has found better efficiency of performance and that on its own court it will have additional drive and motivation to play a game of the highest level".
"We are expected, therefore, to have a match where it will be crucial to be able to curb their scoring streak and the incisiveness’of many different finishers" explained again the coach of the Black Vu. In the first leg, in the game played last Nov. 11, Virtus got the better of Treviso 91-77 taking advantage of, among others, Toko Shengelia's 20-point, 10-rebound and 5-assist performance.
