A touching dedication on the 2024 Pink Jersey

Among the masterpieces of the Pinacoteca di Brera in Milan, è the Maglia Rosa 2024, sponsored by Enel for the ninth consecutive year, and made by Castelli, was unveiled. One of this year's significant novelties can be found inside the collar of the Maglia Rosa. In fact, on a garnet background, there è inserted a quote in tribute to the Invincibles with the inscription: "Grande Torino 1949 – Only fate won them". On May 4, exactly 75 years after the Superga tragedy, the Giro d'Italia will also pay tribute to the granata team.
The event, organized in collaboration with the Pinacoteca di Brera and Opera Laboratori, was attended by Urbano Cairo, Chairman of RCS MediaGroup; Angelo Crespi, Director of the Pinacoteca di Brera; Paolo Bellino, CEO of RCS Sport; Mauro Vegni, Director of the Giro d'Italia; Stefano Barigelli, Director of La Gazzetta dello Sport; Nicola Lanzetta, Italy Director, Enel Group; Steve Smith, Brand Manager of Castelli; Beppe Costa, President of Opera Laboratories; Alessandro Onorato, Councillor for Tourism, Major Events and Sport of the Municipality of Rome; Fabrizio Ricca, Councillor for Sport of the Piedmont Region; Ivana Faccioli, News Director of RTL 102.5; and Vincenzo Nibali, the last Italian winner of the Corsa Rosa in 2016 as well as many representatives of institutions, sponsors and media.
"As a Director in the race I have seen so many feats of champions who have worn the Maglia Rosa over the years – said Mauro Vegni -. All those who have worn it are deserving of mention but I want to emphasize two great riders who, through their deeds, have particularly moved me. Alberto Contador and Vincenzo Nibali. This year the Giro will start from Turin where the Shark won his last Pink Jersey in 2016 and we are ready to celebrate new champions who will wear it".
