Forty-six years ago, on February 6, 1978, Erasmo Iacovone died. The Taranto striker was the victim of a terrifying car accident: after an evening spent with teammates, as he was driving home in his Citroen Dyane, he was hit by another car.
In his Alfa 2000 GT, which he had just stolen, a young man is traveling at crazy speed and headlights off, and in his way is Iacovone’s hatchback: the collision è inevitable. Erasmus is thrown from the passenger compartment and dies instantly. His body will be found several meters from the point of the terrible impact.
Iacovone, a true idol of Taranto fans, passed away at not even twenty-six years of age’età. A few months later his wife, Paola, would give birth to a baby girl.
