Ana Ivanovic makes a prediction about Jannik Sinner
Ana Ivanovic, a 2008 Roland Garros triumphant and former world No. 1 in women’s tennis who retired from the sport at the end of 2016, joined the chorus of praise for Jannik Sinner on the South Tyrolean’s triumph at the Australian Open.
The 36-year-old Serb, wife of another great former, German soccer player Bastian Schweinsteiger, gave an exclusive interview to the English version of Ubitennis, in which she also spoke about Darren Cahill, her former coach and now alongside Sinner. Here are his words.
“Sinner’s triumph in Australia è was incredible, and also incredible was the way he played throughout the entire tournament. He really showed mental strength and perseverance. His excellent timing on the ball in the’impact makes him really enjoyable to watch”.
“I è always enjoyed working with Darren becauseé è extremely knowledgeable about tennis. He could always give me the best advice in times of great pressure. He always found the words to calm me down and point me in the right direction. I was glad to see him in Jannik” box.
“These are different times today, with much more social media acceptance than in 2008. I think the most important aspect is to follow his path and his training, but I am sure Sinner is doing that. He has a good team providing support behind the scenes so that he can focus on his rhythms and goals”.
“He has a very good style of play. È mentally and physically very strong. If he keeps doing what he is doing there will be many more Slam titles for him. I really enjoy watching him. He looks like a good person, which is always a pleasure”.
