World Championships artistic swimming, Giorgio Minisini gold

First gold medal for Italy at the World Championships in Doha. Giorgio Minisini won it in the finals of the artistic swimming free solo, scoring 210.1355 points. È the second won by the Roman in Qatar, after silver in the technical individual. The silver in the artistic swimming free solo è went to Spain&#39s Dennis Gonzalez Boneu (196.2750), the bronze from Colombia&#39s Gustavo Adolfo Sanchez (192.0812).

“I am happy and satisfied – says Giorgio on federnuoto.it – From this experience I realized that still I have to work a lot. This race l’ve suffered particularly. There is also the fact that I did not have the coach who followed me in these months. She was in the stands but it è not the same as having her in the tank. And this è something I have to be able to overcome, because è it è is not possible to have everything you want”.

“I am a little bit sorry that I did not swim the way I wanted to,” Minisini continued.

I definitely get a lot of lessons from this world championship. After yesterday’s preliminary, the idea of a medal I had put aside. The only goal today was to make my coach proud, and I hope I did that. This has to be a starting point” for me.

Giorgio Minisini will be 28 years old next March 9. At the Worlds he won 3 golds, 3 silvers and 2 bronzes in the mixed duo with different partners, Manila Flamini, Mariangela Perrupato and Lucrezia Ruggiero. At the European Championships in Rome 2022 she took home four golds: solo technical, solo free, mixed technical duo and mixed free duo, the latter both with Ruggiero, plus four silvers in previous years always in mixed duo with Flamini. He also won a World Cup competition in the solo free last March in Markham, Canada.
