Luciano Darderi è in the semifinals in the’ATP 250 on clay in Cordoba. The Italian-Argentinian, world number 136, who will turn 22 on Valentine’s Day, beat German Yannick Hanfmann, number 59 and the number 7 seed on the draw, in two sets with a score of 7-6 6-1.
After eight games in the first set in which there’è not a single break ball, è Darderi first surrendered the serve on the fifth chance for Hanfmann who però went to serve for the first set but returned the break at 15. It goes to the tie-break which Darderi dominates winning it with five consecutive points from 2-2.
In the second set Darderi immediately flies to 3-0 even with double break, soon after he in turn loses serve but again breaches his opponent and then goes 5-1. Here he goes 0-40 on Hanfmann’s serve thus procuring three match points but misses them, all the way the fourth, which he wins right after, è the good one.
One’hour and 40 minutes the duration of the match, now Darderià in the semifinals he will meet the winner of the Argentine derby between Facundo Diaz Acosta, world number 95, and Sebastian Baez, number 26 and number 2 seed in the tournament.
