The probable lineups

Sunday’s Serie A goes far beyond the 8:45 p.m. big match between AC Milan and Napoli: already at 6 p.m., the top league offers a decidedly interesting challenge between two of the most in-form teams of the moment, Genoa and Atalanta. The Rossoblù are unbeaten from eight matches, while the orobici come from six successes and a draw in the last seven matches played.

As far as Alberto Gilardino’s choices are concerned, he is moving toward the confirmation of the Biella coach’s classic 3-5-2, with the defensive trio in front of Martinez made up of Vogliacco, Bani and Vasquez, Spence and Martin on the midfield flanks and the attacking pair composed of Albert Gudmundsson and Mateo Retegui.

Gian Piero Gasperini will rely, in all likelihood, on the 3-4-3: in front the central point of reference will be Gianluca Scamacca, while at his side will play Alexey Miranchuk and Charles De Ketelaere, the great protagonist of the previous day with the double against Lazio that projected the Nerazzurri to fourth place in the standings.

Genoa-Atalanta, probable lineups:

GENOA (3-5-2): Martinez; Vogliacco, Bani, Vasquez; Spence, Frendrup, Badelj, Malinovskyi, Martin; Gudmundsson, Retegui. All. Gilardino.

ATALANTA (3-4-3): Carnesecchi; Scalvini, Djmsiti, Kolasinac; Holm, De Roon, Pasalic, Ruggeri; De Ketelaere, Scamacca, Miranchuk. All. Gasperini.
