Jannik Sinner after Australian Open: “I was looking forward to coming back.”
The desire to return to the field was great, the desire to confirm è just as much.
Jannik Sinner has Gael Monfils, his opponent Thursday in the round of 16 at the ATP 500 tournament in Rotterdam, in his sights. Attention towards him è però very high after his triumph at the Australian Open that earned him the first Grand Slam tournament of his career. The South Tyrolean prodigy, however, wanted to make it clear that from his point of view little è has changed in the way he takes the court.
"Compared to before Melbourne some difference there'è – admitted Sinner to the microphones of 'Sky Sport' -. Però when you play tennis you have to be prepared to deal with these kinds of situations, also becauseé if you win your opponents start to know you more. These are situations that you have to work on, and we try every day to do that".
"After the Australian Open we immediately got back to work, I couldn't wait to get back on the court. Every tournament presents different situations and has to be handled differently, and Monfils è a really dangerous opponent. Whenever he plays, the crowd è is on his side, and I always had complicated matches against him. So I will have to come up with something different than in the first round", announced Sinner.
