Yeman Crippa record-breaking

Yeman Crippa propels the Italian marathon into a new era. The’azzurro signs the Italian record in Seville with a time of 2h06:06, taking one minute and ten seconds off the previous record of 2h07:16 set last year in Barcelona by Iliass Aouani.

In the second marathon of his career, the Trentino runner of the Fiamme Oro closed in fourth place with a comeback race and with a second halfà faster than the first (passing the half in 1h03:15), overtaking in the final kilometers the’other Italian Eyob Faniel (Fiamme Oro) who in turn fell below the previous record with 2h07:09, the second Italian performance ever and seventh place at the finish line.

On the day that rewrites the alltime lists for the 42.195 km, Daniele Meucci ;(Army) also seals the personal best with 2h07:49, sixth Italian all-time, 11th in Seville. Success for Ethiopian Deresa Geleta (2h03:27), second Frenchman Morhad Amdouni (2h03:47) eleven seconds off the European record, third Israeli Gashau Ayale (2h04:53).
