Sigh of relief for Carlos Alcaraz

Carlos Alcaraz can breathe a sigh of relief. The Spanish tennis player, who was forced to retire due to an ankle injury in his first-round match at the Rio de Janeiro ATP 500 against Thiago Monteiro, suffered only a sprain. This was announced è by the Murcian himself through a message posted on his social channels.

"I just had an MRI on my ankle, after yesterday’s injury. The analysis, conducted with my doctor Lopez Martinez and my physiotherapists Juanjo Moreno and Segio Kine, showed a second-degree lateral sprain. The injury should keep me out a few days. See you in Las Vegas and Indian Wells!" wrote Alcaraz on social.

Thus, the exhibition match with Rafael Nadal, titled "El Slam de Netflix", scheduled for Sunday, March 3 at the MGM Resorts International in Las Vegas, inside the Michelob ULTRA Arena at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, does not appear to be in jeopardy. The official return will take place in any case in Indian Wells, starting March 6, where Alcaraz will defend his title.
