Gaetano Manfredi Welcomes Davis Cup

Gaetano Manfredi, mayor of Naples, was delighted to welcome the Davis Cup that è arrived in the Campania capital: "I want to thank President Binaghi and the Federation first of all for the extraordinary work they do at the grassroots, to enable young people, even from the most difficult areas, to play sports. Where school does not reach, sport has great social value" he noted. 

" Naples needs great sports facilities, we hope that with the support of the Federation and all the institutions, this city" will be the capital of sports also in facts. We are doing together important things for Naples" added Manfredi. 

"The Technical Center in Bagnoli? We hope it can be an ideal location, because of the place and the efforts we are putting in. We have been working on it for more than a year. In Naples and Campania there’è an important movement, tennis è a significant and historical reality of our cityà. Naples è a great sports capital, and tennis è one of the great protagonists. I hope this passage will be a good omen to do many other things together" concluded the first citizen.

The trophy will remain on display at the Maschio Angioino on Friday 23 and Saturday 24, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Davis Cup will then move to the Naples Tennis Club where it will be possible to admire it on Sunday 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
