Indian Wells: Jannik Sinner will also play doubles

After his triumph at the Rotterdam ATP 500, Jannik Sinner will resume his race to the top of the ATP Ranking at the Indian Wells Masters 1000. The South Tyrolean tennis player, however, will not only participate in the singles tournament, but has decided to play the doubles one as well, paired with compatriot Lorenzo Sonego, going on to reform the duo that è been decisive in the Davis Cup triumph last November.

In addition to the pair formed by the South Tyrolean and the Piedmontese, Andrea Vavassori and Simone Bolelli will also take part in the U.S. event, coming off the back of the final lost at the Australian Open against Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden, the triumph in Buenos Aires against Horacio Zeballos and Marcel Granollers, and fresh from the semifinals in Rio, where they will face Colombia&#39s Barrientos and Brazil&#39s Matos for a place in the final.

The priority for Sinner and Sonego will obviously be on the singles draw, but participation in Indian Wells only confirms the Piedmontese player’s words about arriving in the best possible shape at the upcoming Olympic Games: "Personally, then, the dream of going to the Olympics and winning a medal is growing more and more. In doubles, each nation can field two pairs. It is not up to me, but it would be wonderful to be reunited with Jannik. One pair would seem right to me would be Bolelli and Vavassori, who have been great so far. I wish them to make it to the Finals in our cityà".
