The title in the ATP 250 in Doha fades away for Lorenzo Sonego and Lorenzo Musetti. The Italian pair, in fact, surrendered at the most beautiful moment, yielding in the final to the duo composed of Britain's Jamie Murray and New Zealand's Michael Venus, the number one seed, who won 7-6 2-6 10-8 after an hour and 39 minutes of play.
The Azzurri started badly, losing serve in the opening set. However, they manage to come back in the partial, recovering the break disadvantage in the fifth game and dragging the set to the tie-break. Here forò there's no history: Murray-Venus impose themselves by 7 points to 0. Opposite start in the second partial for Sonego and Musetti, who flew to 3-0 and won another break lead in the eighth game, which coincided with the second set, won 6-2.
In the final tie-break, the Azzurri went down 1-6, from that moment stringing four consecutive points, making up for it (5-6). Here però Murray and Venus place a new and decisive stretch (9-5). Sonego and Musetti manage to nullify three match points, but the fourth è the good one for the number one pair on the scoreboard, which thus conquers the title of the 'Qatar ExxonMobil Open'.
