Beach soccer, bitter world final: Italy knocked out by Brazil
The final remains a tabù, and the Azzurri lose again.
Italy defeated in the final of the World Cup of beach soccer. To bend the Azzurri 6-4 è Brazil, for our national team a new disappointment: after losing the last act of the event already in 2008 and 2019, 2024 also does not turn out to be the right year. For the greenoro instead comes the sixth success in history.
For Italy, moreover, the final also begins in the right way. The first goal of the match è in fact blue, and bears the signature of Genovali. The score holds up until the last seconds of the first interval: just at that point comes Rodrigo’s equalizer. Everything changes in the second half: Casapieri, the Azzurri’s goalkeeper, is sent off and Brazil escapes with Rodrigo closing out his personal hat trick.
The Azzurri tried to fight back, and they succeeded: in fact, Fazzini managed to bring Italy back to a draw. Unfortunately, it turns out to be just an illusion, as Bruno Xavier lets Brazil escape again and Genovali's own goal also arrives. The third half does not change the meaning of the match and the South Americans are world champions. The World Cup Ballon d'Or goes to Gentilin, but è only partial satisfaction after the third lost final.
