Sofia Goggia è returned to speak out on Instagram and did so, through a story posted Sunday afternoon, to return to talk about the operation she underwent after thesevere injury and to thank all the doctors who followed her and are following her, assuring her fans that she will go forward with confidence.

"Dear my fans – began the champion from Bergamo -, I wanted so much to thank you for all the affection and support I have received from you during this period, anything but trivial and obvious. Indeed, è something that makes me very proud and è a beautiful personal recognition: thank you from the bottom of my heart".

"Similarly,” Goggia added, “I wanted to thank from the bottom of my heart all the San Donato Group, the Clinic 'La Madonnina',all the staff of nurses and doctors, professionals who followed me during my days in the hospital. The fracture was bad, the premise of the surgery was anything but simple but the surgery could not have been accomplished in a better way".

Sofia Goggia had sustained a multi-fragmented joint fracture of the right tibial pylon during a giant training in Pontedilegno last February 5. A very serious injury, which forced the Bergamasque to close the season prematurely without therefore the possibility of confirming herself at the top of the downhill CdM. Two race successes in the 2023/24 season for Sofia Goggia: in St. Moritz in Super-G on December 8 and in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee in downhill on January 13.
