Motorsport, Sky presents a 2024 full throttle

A long journey around the world, without ever leaving The House of Sports. On Sky and streaming on NOW is about to begin the Great Motor Season, which for the next 9 months will accompany fans and enthusiasts on the most beautiful circuits, from the tracks that have made motorsport history to the ultra-modern tracks of the latest generation, to enjoy the exciting challenges on two and four wheels. Even more up-close, in the thick of the event, non-stop: coming up are more than 1,300 hours of live programming, about 400 of them dedicated to studios and columns, with more than 200 races over 42 weekends at full speed.

Formula 1, MotoGP, Superbike with also the FIM Women’s Motorcycle World Championship, NTT Indycar Series, World Rally Championship, Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Europe, F1 Academy, Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe and many other championships, all to be experienced live on Sky (also mobile on Sky Go), streaming on NOW.

It will be a season of continuous evolutions to tell exciting races, stories of racing teams and great protagonists, with lots of backstage. Starting with Formula 1, kicking off exclusively on Sky and streaming only on NOW on March 2, live from Bahrain: Davide Camicioli and new entry Vicky Piria – a young driver who already boasts a significant career behind her, from karts to single-seaters, from
GT to the’experience as the only Italian in the world selected for the WSeries – will be the new presenters from the paddock and in the studio in the pre- and post-races, to introduce fans to the hot topics of the weekend, meeting drivers, team managers, guests and key figures of the Circus. And again, Sky will open the doors of its revamped Remote Garage, the virtual studio that, after debuting a year ago, will return with an updated and state-of-the-art version.

Technology always at the top also thanks to Sky Sport Plus, which will give access to new features for watching F1 GPs, from the’on board of your favorite driver to the’option that will allow’you to fully experience the challenge for the leadership. For MotoGP, all live exclusively on Sky and streaming only on NOW, kicking off next March 9 with the first Sprint Race in Qatar, the viewing experience will enjoy an even more immersive perspective. In fact, on each race weekend, the studio will open up to the paddock to gather voices, unpublished and exclusive images, to discover the’soul of the Motomondiale.

The Sky commentary booth will become an open hub in specific and dedicated spaces on Fridays and Saturday mornings to host the Point of View of riders, engineers, technicians, journalists and experts who will enrich the commentaries with passion, originality and expertise. Attention to storytelling will be a constant of the new Sky Sport original productions dedicated to MotoGP: during the course of the season, Sky Sport cameras will enter the headquarters and development centers of the MotoGP teams and manufacturers to tell how victories and triumphs are built and how restarts are managed after defeats. In addition, the cameras will follow race commentator Mattia Pasini meter by meter during the weekends that will see him engaged as a rider on the track, to get even more into the heart of the routine in the pits.

The new FPV Racebook è a column in which men and situations in the paddock are told using the subjective camera. Mauro Sanchini’s Sky Sport Tech features are joined by the’Overlap, to superimpose and compare actions and trajectories on the track of different drivers. And again, Vera Spadini will meetà every week the people of the paddock in the new appointment Storia Vera, to go behind the scenes and get to know characters and curiosities;. As every year great attention will beà then dedicated to’the musical aspect: thanks to the new Music & Bike column it will beà in fact possible to propose from home unreleased songs that will be the soundtrack to the original clips aired during the race weekends.
