Football mourns the death of José La Cagnina
Italian soccer mourns the death of José La Cagnina: the former Como striker, known for his time in Serie C, è passed away at the untimely age of 50 after an illness. Growing up footballingly in the youth of Inter, La Cagnina made his professional debut with Biellese in 1998, and then played for a four-year spell at Pavia before moving to Cremonese in 2003.
With the grigiorossi he was among the protagonists of the double consecutive promotion from Serie C2 to Serie B. Returning to Pavia in 2005, La Cagnina also wore the jerseys of Lecco, Voghera, Real Vicenza and Treviso.
After the end of his career è he was coach of the youth teams of Padova and Udinese. Cremonese greeted him thusì:"We find ourselves communicating what we never wanted. Our dear Josè has left us, and with him goes a huge person who has represented Udinese Academy for so many years. Josè è was in these years a great example for the kids and adults who were able to share with him sporting and non-sporting moments, he always put the kids first, exporting the values shared with the Udinese Academy family on and off the field. We close with extreme affection around the family in this dark moment.
