Inter impressive: 4-0 at Atalanta, Juventus at -12
An impressive new show of strength, to confirm itself the team that is dominating the championship.
Inter was unstoppable even against the dreaded Atalanta, which in the recovery of the match postponed for the Italian Super Cup came to the San Siro on the strength of two consecutive months of unbeaten streak in the league and was overwhelmed 4-0 by the league leader. For the meneghini è the fourth win in a row in Serie A with four goals to their credit, and above all the one that allows them to move to +12 on the second in the standings: Juventus.
And to say that the night at the San Siro began with a few too many headaches for Simone Inzaghi’s men: the first team to find the way of the goal seemed in fact to be Atalanta. It does so on 10' with De Ketelaere, after a lightness of Pavard and a contact between Bastoni and Miranchuk. The Var sees forò a control with the latter's arm and does not validate the goal. That came instead on 26', with Darmian threading Carnesecchi not perfect on a Mkhitaryan initiative. Inter pressed and came close to doubling the score several times: there was also a cross by Lautaro Martinez, who then in the first half recovery controlled a ball served to him by Pavard on the edge of the area and invented a masterpiece goal from the left.
The resumption opens with a timid attempt by Koopmeiners to get back into the game, but it is short-lived: already at 54' comes a penalty for arm deflection of Hateboer in the area. From the penalty spot Lautaro Martinez misses, but on the tap-in è perfect Dimarco. Turn of substitutions for Gian Piero Gasperini, but his stunned Atalanta does not raise its head again. Exactly the opposite was the case with another substitute: Frattesi, who at 72' netted the poker ball on Alexis Sanchez’s free kick.
