At Kvitfjell immediately cancelled first women’s time trial
Heavy snowfall and fog caused Kvitfjell to cancel the first run ahead of Saturday’s women’s World Cup downhill, which on Sunday, weather permitting of course, will be followed by a super-G.
Tomorrow è another time trial is scheduled, essential to send Saturday’s race into the stage. And in the meantime, with all these cancellations, Mikaela Shiffrin, still stuck in the pits from her fall in Cortina d’Ampezzo, is laughing.
Meanwhile, in Aspen, USA, the giant racers will take to the track tomorrow for the first of two races in this discipline scheduled in the prestigious Colorado resort where there will also be a slalom on Sunday.
Swiss champion Marco Odermatt has already won the crystal ball general with as many as ten races to spare and is preparing – after seven seasonal victories out of seven races – to win the giant slalom one as well. Odermatt è also leads the downhill and super-G rankings.
Italy hasn't done great this season in the giant but is still banking on Filippo Della Vite and Luca De Aliprandini. In Aspen in giant slalom Italy won only once with Alberto Tomba in 1991 while the last Italian podium in this one was Matteo Belfrond’s third place in 1994.
