At the microphones of VBTV, the official Over-The-Top (OTT) live streaming platform of Volleyball World (Vb.tv.), volleyball player Simone Anzani, center of Lube Civitanova and veteran of Italvolley, the men’s national volleyball team, speaks. In recent years, Simone Anzani è s life has been a mix of sporting success and crucial moments in his personal life. From the joy of becoming a father shortly before his victory at the 2021 European Championships, to the blow of family bereavement during the World Cup in Poland in 2022, to last year’s setback when serious heart problems forced him to miss the entire season with the national team.

After a long period of uncertainty, rehabilitation and hard training, Anzani has finally made his return to the court resuming activity with the red-and-whites team, which has been engaged in recent months in the Credem Banca SuperLega Championship, now nearing the playoff stage. "After so many months that you are off the court, out of the team rotation, è some period of acclimatization is always necessary. At the first game as a starter, the’first game against Catania, apart from the’excitement after the suffering of this summer, I felt like a novice; like being at the’debut. – says Simone -. I think that in dealing with the situation, my way of doing things also helped me overall: trying to be always positive, sunny, even in difficult moments.

Today, the difficult months seem to be a distant memory for the Lube Civitanova center, who along with his wife Carolina è is expecting their second child.  As for Simone's path in Italvolley, his story has parallels with other veterans on the team. He joined the national team in 2015 and found himself going through a period of generational turnover, remaining an important reference point for his teammates. "Last September, when I couldn’t play because of tachycardias, I went to see the guys from’Italvolley in a game of the’European – he recounts -. When è dropped the’last ball, they ran to hug me on the sidelines. I think it was a beautiful gesture: it makes you realize that you have left your mark, in the moral and team-building".

What has distinguished this new course è has been the ability to reinvent ourselves, starting practically from scratch and integrating only a few elements from the previous cycle. This approach has led to the formation of a unique group, capable of facing challenges with a fresh perspective and aiming for increasingly ambitious goals. The team will soon be engaged in the Volleyball Nations League (VNL), an international volleyball competition that this year will be decisive for the men’s and women’s national teams to access the next Olympic Games in Paris.  All VNL matches and the match of the 11th return day of the SuperLega Credem Banca between Lube Civitanova and Rana Verona, will be visible live and on demand on Vb.tv.
