Stefano Colantuono: "We have a moral obligation"

The defeat at home to Bologna increasingly reduces Salernitana’s hopes of salvation, which remains at 14 points in the standings with eight days to go and has yet to win a game in 2024 (the last success dates back to the 1-0 away win against Hellas Verona last Dec. 30). Stefano Colantuono, to the microphones of 'Sky Sport', è aware of the situation but does not want to give up.

"We tried to apply the strategy we had planned and partly succeeded – said the granata coach -. Bologna is going through a positive period, and my biggest regret è for the third goal conceded; the other two came from excellent actions of the opponents. We take note, now a crucial match awaits us, against Sassuolo, in front of our fans".

"We have a moral obligation to the club and our supporters,” Colantuono added.

Mathematically we are not relegated, we must work hard until the end of the championship to honor it. Regarding letting young people play, we will evaluate the situation if the opportunity presents itself and if it is necessary, but the priority remains to field the best lineup for maximum results".

Colantuono also responded to a specific question about the situation of Boulaye Dia: "The companyè è is working to find an agreement with his agents, and I will follow the directives that will be given to me".
