F1, second free practice in the rain: Oscar Piastri the fastest
In the first free practice, the fastest è was Verstappen on Red Bull
After the first free practice, with the best time set by Verstappen on Red Bull, rain heavily affected the second free practice session at Suzuka, site of the Japanese GP. All teams were forced to little activity on the track, unable to gather any more indications ahead of the weekend. Appointment in the night for FP3 to better understand the track.
For the record, the best time in the second free practice session bears the signature of Piastri in McLaren, ahead of Hamilton and Leclerc but no one, in fact, was able to lap the track as he would have liked. Too high the risk of making some mistakes and, as a result, better to stay in the pits and wait for the new free practice session. However, the indications of the first free practice with the Red Bull one-two remain.
Verstappen and Perez finished first and second, respectively. However, Ferrari (third Sainz and sixth Leclerc) showed a very good race pace, confirming that they have what it takes to bother Red Bull (which brought many updates to Suzuka) and, in particular, Verstappen. The latter is aiming, in no uncertain terms, to redeem himself after the forfeit in that Melbourne.
