Paolo Bertolucci explains the differences between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz on clay

Just a few days before the start of the Monte Carlo Masters 1000, former Italian tennis player Paolo Bertolucci, during a speech to the microphones of "Fanpage.it", tried to identify the main differences that there could be on clay between the two protagonists of this first part of the season, namely Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.

"Alcaraz è born on clay and Sinner was not, that definitely counts. Carlos è more comfortable in this respect. As a technical completeness then the Spaniard is preferred on the tip of the day or tournament performance. He, to use a cycling metaphor, è from 'classic' that is, from Milan-San Remo, while Sinner comes out at the distance as in the "Giro d'Italia"" debuted the 'former Italian tennis player.

"At the end of the year Sinner è more continuous, methodical and rational. Alcaraz, on the other hand, has crazy highs that maybe Jannik doesn&#39t reach on the day, but he&#39s less mentally strong and concrete because he&#39s looking, unlike the Blue, almost more for the spectacle and the applause of the audience than for the point. It&#39s as if he sometimes forgets about the score and the importance a point might have, while the South Tyrolean, from this point of view, only aims to bring home the point without worrying about the showmanship," added the Sky Sports commentator.

"Let’s wait a moment before making any predictions, as theyè are very difficult. I think that after Paris we will be able to make a judgment about the level of play that Jannik will haveà shown on clay. I, forò am very confident" concluded Paolo Bertolucci.
