In the quarterfinals of the WTA 250 in Bogotà, on the clay courts of the Colombian capital, Sara Errani, world number 117 beat with a score of 4-6 6-2 6-3 the Romanian Irina Bara, number 178, after almost two hours and three quarters of play.

The’beginning è disastrous for the 36-year-old from Romagna who goes down 0-3 with double break, recovers on 3-3 saving forà five more break points on 1-3 but on 4-4 loses her service again and pco dpo the first set.

Festival of breaks and break points in the first four games of the second set: Errani from 0-1 goes 4-1 saving three break points on’1-1, misses in turn three in the sixth game, saves one in that one but in’the eighth she again breaks her opponent’s service, extending the match.

Four consecutive breaks from’1-1 to 3-3 in the third set, then on 4-3 in her favor Sara operates the decisive break closing then in the next game on the first match point. Serving did not count for much in this match: the Italian lost it six times out of 14, the Romanian 8 out of 13.

In the semifinals Errani will face the winner between German Tatjana Maria, the number 2 seed on the draw, and Colombian home favorite Camila Osorio, number 6 on the seed.
